The core of Gennius’ technical architecture is the “Matrix”.
This is an object oriented structure that defines how data is consumed, transformed, enhanced and extended, placed into the registry, and made available for reporting and additional analysis. The Matrix includes more than 6 million objects.
The vast majority of these objects fall into two categories:
1. The standard vocabularies that are used by the industry to describe healthcare– CPT, ICD, RxNorm, and many others. These vocabularies are maintained in the system;
2. The National Physician Index file which is used as a master reference to help manage the complex relationships between and among providers, patients and payers.
The rest of these objects, more than 400,000, are objects that Gennius has created. They are proprietary objects that add intelligence to the matrix by providing structure and linkage between other objects. They are the embedded intelligence and the core differentiating capability of the Gennius platform.
The Matrix is a centrally maintained structure that is continually refreshed across all clients’ implementations. This allows all clients to be up to date on new specifications and vocabularies. It also allows all clients to be advantaged by Gennius ongoing, cumulative learning
